Breastfeeding Problems & Solutions
You want the best for your healthcare – so do we. Our team focuses on every aspect of your pregnancy and postpartum care including your breastfeeding journey. Breastfeeding is exactly that: a journey, filled with many ups and downs. Having the right tools in your tool belt and having a supportive team behind you can make all the difference!
Every person’s breastfeeding experience is different, and you will not always have the same challenges as the next person. No matter what problem you experience, it is important to remember that it is always okay to ask for help. That is exactly what we are here for after all!

To help our clients with these and many other challenges, we work with Lactation Consultant, Jennifer Chivas RN, BSN, IBCLC. She is a true breastfeeding expert and is a great resource for all of our families. Jennifer teaches our class Breastfeeding: A Great Start. This class takes place every other month, and it is the perfect opportunity for our clients to meet and form a relationship with her and ask all of their questions surrounding breastfeeding. The class prepares you for a great start in breastfeeding.
In this class you learn:

- Pro Tips for Success
We understand that before birth, your mind is focused on giving birth and bringing your baby earthside, and then once your baby is here, your mind shifts, and feeding your baby becomes a top priority. That is why we also have Jennifer there to assist with postpartum assessments after birth. During this time, she can help mothers with latching questions and assess the baby for any oral tether issues or dysfunctions.
Birthways Family Birth Center is here to support you and your family throughout this process. With the right education and support, you can overcome many breastfeeding challenges and achieve your goals. And something we like to always remind our families is that ‘fed is best!’ As long as your baby is fed and both you and baby are healthy, that is all that matters.
